According to Tuttosport reporter Schira, Atalanta are undertaking a major squad overhaul to strengthen the team under coach Sarri.
In midfield, Atalanta are close to signing midfielder Matteo Gaetano from Cagliari for 15 million euros. Both parties are expected to hold fresh talks today to finalize the deal. Additionally, the club is also monitoring Parma midfielder Mandela Keita and AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who played under Sarri at Chelsea and was a player Sarri repeatedly expressed interest in signing during his time at Lazio last season.
Atalanta are also eyeing Napoli forward Antonio Vergara. Napoli are keen to retain the rising prospect born in 2003 and have offered him a contract extension through 2031. However, Como have also entered the race. Additionally, Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup is a key target for Como, with both considered potential successors to Nico Paz.
Napoli continue to push for the transfer of Lazio centre-back Mario Gila. The player has agreed to a contract through 2031 with an annual salary of 3 million euros, but Lazio and Napoli have not yet reached an agreement. Lazio is demanding 25-30 million euros in cash, while Napoli's offer of 18 million euros plus a loan deal for Rafa Marín has been rejected.
Additionally, Como are also attempting to sign Chelsea centre-back Nathaniel Chalobah and Galatasaray defender Carlos Sánchez.
