Auba and Laca reflect on the Fulham goal-fest

Alex Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang both helped themselves to a brace as Arsenal overcame Fulham 5-1 at Craven Cottage to lift Unai Emery’s Gunners to third in the Premier League.

After the game the two strikers faced the BT Sport cameras. Here’s what they had to say…

On a near perfect performance…

AL: No, it was hard, even if there is a big score. For us, it was hard to start but we scored many goals and we were compact. We won and that’s perfect

On coming off the bench to make an impact…

PEA: Yes, we did. We played very well. We knew that Fulham play good football and they play on the counter but the team played well. I came in and I knew I had to make the difference and I did it, so it’s good.

On Fulham’s style helping Arsenal…

AL: Yeah, but the coach told us we can win today if we’re efficient and that there would be a lot of chances. I knew before the game Auba would come on and score some goals. He did it and everybody is happy.

On how far Arsenal can go this season…

PEA: We have to keep the mentality, we have a great team spirit. As you can see on the pitch, we’re playing well, so we’ll try to keep focused and continue to win games.

On neither of them scoring the best goal of the game…

AL: No! The best thing is to score, after we don’t care about the best goal.
