Bakary Sako says he has snubbed Premier League clubs to join Championship promotion chasers West Brom.
High-flying Albion, bossed by Darren Moore, have boosted their squad ahead of a trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday by snapping up free agent Sako.
The 30-year-old wideman had been training with Albion after rejecting a new deal with top-flight Crystal Palace this summer.
The Mali international, who played for the Baggies' arch-rivals West Brom for three years to 2015, said: “A lot of Premier League clubs wanted me, but as soon as I knew Darren wanted to see me I went to see him straight away and we clicked.
“The way he manages players, the way he talks, he’s passionate and I love that, that’s why I came here.”
Boss Moore says Sako will boost their formidable attack, which includes in-form trio Dwight Gayle, Jay Rodriguez and Harvey Barnes, as they chase an instant return to the Premier League after last season's relegation.
Moore said: “He brings great experience and adds greatly to our goal threat across a range of positions. We’re delighted to get him.
“He brings competition to the group and a know-how of this division. He’s been a credit to himself while he’s been training with us and I can vouch for the fact that the way he has committed to us has been exceptional.”
