Bale set to play for Wales more than two months after his last match

Gareth Bale will feature for Wales in their UEFA Nations League clash against Finland, 71 days after his last competitive appearance.

The 31-year-old came on in the final minutes of Real Madrid's LaLiga Santander fixture with Real Mallorca back in June, but he has not featured since as a result of his non-existent relationship with Los Merengues coach Zinedine Zidane.

Things are very different when he turns out for his national team, though.

"When I play for my country, I'm happy and feel comfortable," Bale told Sky Sports.

"What people say in Madrid doesn't affect me, I'm used to it.

"When I'm with Wales I'm motivated to play."

The numbers show what a different player he is with Wales.

Last season Bale made 22 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring twice.

But for Wales, he didn't miss any of their eight games, and scored as many goals as he did with Real Madrid.

And once again at The Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Bale will be happy to pull on his country's shirt.
