Gabriel boost

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their hopes of vending off interest for Gabriel Magalhaes this summer. The defender's future has been linked elsewhere in recent weeks after starting the first two Premier League games on the bench.

According to reports in France, Al-Ittihad have turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos.

The experienced centre-back recently committed his long-term future to the French giants in May, but the lure of a move to the Middle East has turned a number of high-profile player's heads this summer. It's understood that Marquinhos wants to stay in Paris and isn't interested in Al-Ittihad's pay rise offer.

Whilst a move for Marquinhos seems unlikely, it seems that Nuno Espirito Santo's men are now looking for alternatives. And to make matters even better for Arsenal, Al-Ittihad face a registration issue too.

Balogun bidding war

Arsenal are braced for a late bidding war for Folarin Balogun amid interest from several sides in the Premier League and abroad.

AS Monaco have already had a bid turned down for the striker, which is understood to have totalled around £34.2million. The Ligue 1 side are expected to return with a second bid before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Les Monegasques are one of several teams set to make a formal approach for Balogun who has plenty of interest from the Premier League.

Seven transfers

Arsenal are working on at least seven more first team exits before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.

Arsenal are trying to address this and sources within the club have indicated that they are keen to avoid a similar situation to Chelsea last season where the Blues' inflated squad size created issues for their four different managers.
