Barca register their Champions League squad: Balde, Gavi and Nico make the list

Barcelona are less than two weeks away from making their bow in the 2021/22 Champions League against Bayern Munich and they have now completed their squad registration with UEFA.

The Catalans, whose debut in the competition comes on September 14, have registered homegrown players Alejandro Balde, Gavi and Nico Gonzalez in their squad, as well as Arnau Tenas.

It would appear, as a result, that Ronald Koeman is going to trust his youngsters this season, though that might well be down to necessity rather than choice. Both Nico and Gavi have already had minutes this season. Yusuf Demir, too, has been handed a squad number.

Injured pair Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele have also been named in the squad. The Frenchman is still recovering and, all things going well, will be back in two months. Caution still surrounds Ansu, though he has returned to working on the training pitch.

Barcelona's four summer signings - Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and Luuk de Jong - are also on the list, even though the Argentine will be out until November with an injury.
