Barcelona earned the most money from 2018/19 UCL, Liverpool ranked 2nd

The club to have earned the most money from the 2018/19 Champions League was Barcelona, even though they went out at the semi-final stage.

In total, the Catalan club took in 117 million euros, based on prize money and other factors such as historic coefficient and television market pool.

Liverpool collected 111m euros and the historic coefficient is the main reason for the gap to Barcelona, as the Blaugrana earned 34m euros through the historic coefficient to the Reds' 23m euros.

Tottenham were next in the ranking with 101m euros, ahead of Juventus (95m euros), Manchester United (93m euros), Manchester City (93m euros), PSG (85m euros), Real Madrid (85m euros), Atletico Madrid (85m euros) and Bayern Munich (82m euros).

Even though Ajax reached the semi-finals, they only took in 78m euros, which was the 12th most.

The television market pool was what penalised the Dutch side the most.
