Barcelona praise Modric as 'a true gentleman' for his words after Ballon d'or

Luka Modric presented the Ballon d'Or prize to Leo Messi on Monday night, and his sportsmanship has earned praise from Barcelona.

The Real Madrid midfielder, a year after winning the award himself, travelled to Paris to present the award to the Argentine.

"Sports and football are not just about winning, they're also about respect for your teammates and rivals," Modric tweeted.

The Catalan club responded to the Croatian midfielder, labelling him "a true gentlemen".
