Leonardo Balerdi hasn't yet debuted for Boca Juniors' senior side in an official match, but the 19-year-old is very highly rated and could be the subject of a 10 million euros bid from Barcelona.
It is expected that an offer could come from the Camp Nou offices in the coming days for the defender who recently made Lionel Scaloni's Argentina list for the Under-20s COTIF Tournament.
According to the Argentine club's president Daniel Angelici, interest has already been communicated.
"They made an offer for a player who wasn't here to play in this match, but it was rejected," he said during an interview before the recent Joan Gamper Trophy match between Barcelona and Boca Juniors.
Barcelona remain keen to sign the player, who started his career as a creative midfielder before becoming one of the hottest defensive prospects in his country.
