Barcelona 'will do EVERYTHING to sign Lewy on a three-year contract this summer'

Barcelona will do everything they can to sign Robert Lewandowski in the summer - with the Polish star's deal in Germany running out next year.

The Bayern Munich striker has been on Barcelona's radar for nearly a year now and with his contract at the Allianz Arena coming to an end in 2023 - the Catalan club are preparing to make a move in the summer.

Lewandowski's agent will sit down with his current club this week to discuss a possible extension - but any resolve there is looking increasing unlikely.

Following the departure of Lionel Messi last summer, the Barcelona hierarchy feel that the club is devoid of leaders and big names that will put the team on their backs when needed - a gap that Lewandowski fills.

The club are willing to offer the 33-year-old a three-year contract, subject to his request, should they reach an agreement with Bayern Munich.

The Polish striker currently sits second in the all-time Bundesliga top goalscorer list with 309 goals in 379 appearances - as well as his nine league titles at both Munich at Borussia Dortmund.

There is currently nothing in place for the deal to go through - but Lewandowski and his agent are certainly interested in the Catalan giants.

Julian Nagelsmann's side have made it clear they have no intentions of letting the Pole leave the club - despite his contract running out at the end of next season.

Xavi's side became aware of Lewandowski's situation in January after being told his contract extension talks with Bayern Munich had gone cold.
