Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal will not feature in EA FC 24 game

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal will not feature in the upcoming EA FC 24 release.

The highly-rated forward, who became the second youngest player in Champions League history on Tuesday night, when he featured against Belgian side Royal Antwerp, has been breaking record after record of late.

Last month, at just 16 years and 38 days old, the Spain international became the youngest player to start for any Liga team this century when he featured for Barca in their 2-0 win over Cadiz.

And two weeks later, Yamal became the youngest-ever debutant and goalscorer for Spain at 16-year and 57-days old; breaking club teammate Gavi’s previous record for La Roja.

The teenager will, however, have to wait to make his much-anticipated debut on this month's EA FC 24 release.

So why won't he feature? Well, Yamal is not eligible to be in the game because he's too young. To be added into the game, all players must be 17 years old.

That's right. Yamal will have to wait until 13 July, 2024 – when he turns 17 – before he can use himself on the Ultimate Team and Career Mode game modes on EA FC 24.

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, who is currently on loan at Premier League side Brighton, was left out of FIFA 20 for the very same reason.

Twitter account FUT.GG predict Yamal will be handed a 78-rated RW card when he is eventually added to the game.

"What could've been," they wrote on Sunday. "Lamine won't be eligible to be in #EAFC until he turns 17 which is in exactly 300 days. We'll keep counting down the days so you don't have to."

As well as his very respectable FUT rating, they have handed Yamal an acceleration stat of 91 while other high stats include agility [87], dribbling [86] and composure [79].
