Barrenetxea takes a break from his studies to score against Real Madrid

Ander Barrenetxea became the youngest player to score for Real Sociedad in LaLiga Santander on Sunday against Real Madrid.

At just 17 years and 126 days the schoolboy grabbed La Real's third goal of the game, beating the record previously held by Joseba Etxeberria.

In the midst of his studies, Barrenetxea decided to take some time out and play against Los Blancos before starting his high school final exams on Thursday.

It was the eighth appearance of the season for the student, who is studying maths, languages and philosophy.

On Sunday night, he went to bed on cloud nine, not only because of his first professional goal but also for the reception he received from the supporters at Anoeta.

On Monday, it was back to the books in order to get some study time in before his exams start on Thursday and end the following Tuesday.

In the middle of his exams is his team's important clash with Espanyol, with both sides aiming for the last European spot in the fight for seventh place.

The 17-year-old will have to make the most of his free time from footballing duties on Monday and Tuesday to study and give himself the best possible chance of getting the required results to gain entry to university on 5, 6 and 7 June.
