Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton has reportedly been accused of assaulting his Barnsley counterpart Daniel Stendel after today's League One match.

Sky Sports claim police are investigating Barton after he was involved in a brawl at full-time with the Tykes manager.

The two reportedly had to be separated by stewards and the police after coming together in the tunnel, which reportedly ended in the former Manchester City player assaulting the home side's manager.

Barnsley ran out 4-2 winners over ten-man Fleetwood, who had Harry Souttar sent off in the second half at Oakwell.

One of the home side's goalscorers, Cauley Woodrow, wrote on Twitter that the 'attack' was 'disgusting', before later deleting the tweet.

Woodrow tweeted: 'Firstly @ ftfc to have a manager that can physically assault another manager in the tunnel is disgusting, causing our manager to have blood pouring from his face!!

'People like you don't deserve a place in the game of football you are foul. Secondly fantastic win today @ BarnsleyFC'

The result leaves the Tykes in second place in England's third tier, while Fleetwood are 12th.
