Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a loan move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
According to BILD, Bayern have identified McTominay as their first choice option as they look to bring in a new holding midfielder before the transfer window closes.
McTominay is no longer guaranteed a regular place in the starting lineup at United, as demonstrated by the fact that he has made two short substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
The 26-year-old possesses plenty of experience having made over 200 appearances for United.
Scotland international McTominay has two years remaining on his contract at United, with the club having the option to extend his deal by a further year.
So far in this transfer window, Bayern have signed Harry Kane, Kim Min-Jae and Daniel Peretz, while Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro have joined on free transfers.
Bayern already have the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka in midfield but they are reportedly looking for another option.
There have been suggestions that Bayern could loan Ryan Gravenberch to United as part of a deal for McTominay.

Gravenberch is great at taking the ball on the half turn and running with it, turning defensive phases into attacking phases in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, McTominay plays it backwards. As a sub, Gravenberch can some on and break through lines, much like Cunha did for Wolves on the first match day. Gravenberch is not perfect but to say he's worse than McTominay is plain blindness. The only reason Bayern would consider swapping for McTominay is because he would fit a particular need in their squad, otherwise they would just keep the more talented player who if managed correctly will get better as he reaches his prime, whereas McTominay will never be better than he is now as a 27-28 year old

He also is not greatly effective as a defensive midfielder and his main quality is that he's dangerous in the final third, where we have better players with more strings to their bow than he does. Gravenberch can play multiple positions and frankly, there is a reason he was so highly thought of before signing for Bayern
