Bayern boss Tuchel 'is plotting to sign his "dream player" Raphinha from Barca'

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly eager to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha this summer, having missed out on his 'dream player' while at Chelsea last year.

Raphinha snubbed a move to Stamford Bridge in favour of Barcelona last summer, moving to the Catalan giants from Leeds for £56million, but could be on his way out already following a somewhat unconvincing season at the Nou Camp.

Tuchel, who steered Bayern Munich to their 11th successive Bundesliga crown on the final day of the season this month, is keen to bolster his squad with reinforcements ahead of next term and has reportedly lined up Raphinha as a summer target.

The ex-Leeds man contributed 10 goals and 12 assists from 50 appearances under Xavi this campaign and has been described as Tuchel's 'dream player' by the German media.

Reports claim that Tuchel is willing to offer versatile defender Benjamin Pavard, who has attracted interest from Barcelona ahead of the transfer window, in a swap deal for the winger.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Tuchel was a 'very, very big fan' of Raphinha during his reign as Chelsea manager and is weighing up a move for the Brazilian once again this summer.

A transfer expert from the outlet claimed on Monday: 'If Tuchel gets a little more transfer power, then I don't rule out throwing Raphinha in the ring.'

The Bundesliga giants are bidding to lure West Ham captain Declan Rice, who is set to lead the Irons in Wednesday's Europa League final, to Bavaria this summer, although Arsenal and Manchester United are rivalling their interest in the transfer, which is expected to exceed £100m.

Bayern Munich's pursuit of Rice perhaps shows that Tuchel's engine room is set for major changes ahead of next season, with a handful of central midfielders already linked with moves away.

The Red Devils are monitoring Leon Goretzka's situation at the Allianz Arena according to reports, while Barcelona are eager to sign Joshua Kimmich.

Despite overtaking Borussia Dortmund to win the Bundesliga on the final day of the season, Bayern Munich endured a turbulent campaign both domestically and in Europe.

Tuchel came in to replace axed head coach Julian Nagelsmann in March and will be keen to structure their squad in his image this summer.
