Javi Martinez has been linked with a return to Athletic Club this summer.
The Spaniard's contract at Bayern Munich is up in 2021 and the German club have already accepted that he will leave.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Athletic and Getafe are the two clubs leading the race to sign Martinez, as long as the latter qualifies for the Champions League this season.
Martinez left Athletic in 2012 after Bayern spent 40 million euros to bring him to Bavaria.
During his time in Germany, the 31-year-old has won seven Bundesliga titles, one Champions League and four DFB-Pokal trophies, among other honours.
"Bilbao is a paradise," Martinez told Kicker last summer.
"I have lots of friends there and I can't say that I won't return in the near future."
