Bayern line up sensational transfer for Grealish to team up with Harry Kane

BAYERN MUNICH are eyeing up a shock move for Jack Grealish, Sun Online has learned.

The German giants are about to appoint Vincent Kompany as their new manager.

And the former Manchester City ace is believed to have identified the England ace as one of his key targets to rebuild the team.

Kompany is believed to be a huge fan of Grealish and Munich think there could be a chance to tempt the ex-Aston Villa midfielder into a switch to Germany.

They think the chance of linking up with Harry Kane will be a huge pull.

The success Jadon Sancho has had since returning to Germany may also open Grealish’s eyes up to the opportunities that exist beyond the Premier League.

Despite being a key part of City’s recent successes, Grealish has fallen slightly down the pecking order at the Etihad in the last 12 months.

His goalscoring record has been questioned and even though he’s struggled with injuries there’s been big matches where he’s not featured this season.

It means he is unlikely to be a starter for England at the Euros.

And Munich think they could offer Grealish the chance to resurrect his career and boost his international prospects at the same time.

But the move is likely to be met with fierce resistance by Pep Guardiola.

He is a huge fan of Grealish and has already indicated to City officials that he is keen to keep his squad together to go all out for a fifth straight Premier League title next term.

Grealish is also seen as a key figure in the dressing room and any exit from the club would dismay his team-mates.

One player who is set to leave is Kalvin Phillips. Guardiola has decided that the player’s disastrous spell at City needs to come to an end and it would make sense for both parties if he leaves this Summer.

City had hoped that Phillips could be used as a makeweight in a deal for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta.

But the Hammers - who took Phillips on loan last season - are not believed to be interested in a permanent deal.

Fulham are monitoring Phillips but so too are his former club Leeds.

Sun Online understands Leeds would be interested in a season-long loan deal for Phillips if they win the Playoff final.

Phillips - who remains a cult hero at Elland Road - would be welcomed back with open arms.

But Manchester City are believed to favour a permanent deal which might rule Leeds out of a fairytale deal to get the player back to Yorkshire.
