Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has turned on the confidence ahead of his side's looming Champions League clash with Chelsea, and feels the Bavarian's can process at the expense of Frank Lampard's men.

Chelsea host Goretzka and his Bayern team-mates on February 25 at Stamford Bridge, before the return leg in Munich on March 18.

Speaking recently ahead of the contest, the midfielder admitted he was pleased to get the 'attractive' draw with Chelsea and backs his side to do the business.

'We want to go further than last year, when we immediately got the winner in the round of 16,' Goretzka told Goal.

'I was very happy about the draw, Chelsea is an attractive opponent. We are confident that we can do it.'

Bayern are yet to lose a single game in this season's competition, boasting an immaculate record from the group stages.

Despite sharing Group B with last season's finalists Tottenham, Bayern picked up six wins from six matches and scored an impressive 24 goals along the way.

The Bavarians appear to be saving their finest form for European competition this season, after falling slightly off the pace in the Bundesliga division which they typically dominate.

RB Leipzig currently top the German top flight, with Bayern four points adrift after 17 matches played.

The Bavarian's recently announced interim coach Hansi Flick would continue to take charge of the team for the duration of the season, much to the approval of Goretzka.

The midfielder added: 'He [Flick] works very meticulously, very calmly and with a high level of social competence.

'He looks for discussions with the players and gives everyone a good feeling. It works very well at the moment.'
