Manchester United flop Bebe has revealed his relief after hearing his Old Trafford nightmare would come to a close after four years.
Bebe was a shock signing for United in 2010 when he was plucked from relative obscurity in Portugal for a then hefty £7.4million.
Incredibly, then United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he had never seen him play and that he only sanctioned the transfer due to recommendation from his former assistant manager Carlos Queiroz.
Bebe only played seven times for United - and never again after his first season before he was farmed out on loan to Besiktas, Rio Ave and then Pacos de Ferreira during David Moyes' ill fated season in charge at Old Trafford.
By the end of his stint, the forward admitted to have become fed up of life at United and was desperate to kick-start his career elsewhere.
'Every day I called my agent to ask him to get me out. It was a bad time, Bebe told Goal. 'When you do not play, even if you are at a great club, then you are not happy, so why continue?'
'I remember that I was going for a United game with the youth team, and my agent called me and told me I had been sold to Benfica. It was the best moment of my life!'
Bebe also revealed he struggled to adapt to the drastic lifestyle change having been brought up in an orphanage and that even after he signed a deal with United he was still in disbelief that he was joining the Premier League giants.
To help him adjust to the move, Ferguson even rented out his home to the Portuguese - although Bebe suspects this was just so he could keep an eye on him more.
Despite the move quickly turning sour, Bebe has no regrets over the transfer and insists he always had a good relationship with Ferguson who was a constant avenue of help.
'He [Feguson] spoke very little, but when he spoke he got his point across,' Bebe added.
'He was a humble person who helped the kids a lot. But when he was training he did not like jokes, he was very serious, he trained really hard. He was a person who helped me a lot too. The first year I stayed in his apartment, in a house he was renting out.
'It was a good relationship, also because the people who worked with my agent had a good relationship with the coach.
'I don't know if he rented me the house to have me under a bit more control, but he would obviously know when I was at home if he had me renting his place!'
Bebe did net twice while at Old Trafford, scoring in a League Cup tie against Woverhampton Wanderers as well as against Bursaspor in the Champions Leagues.
After failing to make the grade at Benfica joined Eibar in Spain before completing a pemanent switch to Rayo Vallecano this term.

Bebe has nothing to offer United,& joining United was never in his mind & all of a sudden he found himself in Manchester United jersey.so when it happened he couldn't believe it,& in the process of thinking of it he lost himself.& that was the end of him.{BEBE}.
Seems.You’re making sense

You will hear a lot of the current Utd players say the exact same thing, when they eventually leave the sinking ship.
