Manchester United's Class of 92 stars proved they still ooze quality as they reunited to put Salford's youth team to the sword in a seven-a-side match on Thursday.

David Beckham lined-up alongside his former team-mates Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Phil and Gary Neville for the kick around with the Ammies youngsters.

The United legends rolled back the years to claim the bragging rights with a slender 19-17 victory.

Salford's director, Chris Casper - who came through the Class of 92 ranks but never went on to a career in the top-flight, got involved in the action as well along with Beckham's son Romeo.

It's seems fair to say that Beckham was delighted by the fact he still has what it takes as he took to social media to revel in their win over the Salford kids.

'Not a bad little team... by the way, we won 19-17,' he wrote on Instagram next to a picture of the six former United academy graduates.

Gary Neville's confidence was also sky-high after the victory as he threw down the gaunlet to any potential challengers, writing on Instagram: 'Unbeaten On the Roof! Anyone fancy taking us on.'

The former United right-back co-owns Salford along with his brother Phil, Giggs, Scholes and Nicky Butt - who was absent from Thursday's kick around - and decided to set up the match against some of the National League side's youth team players.

It was a chance of a lifetime for the Salford youngsters to get one over their idols but the Class of 92 stars managed to scrape through for the win.

The United legends have been spending a lot of time together recently and were seen hanging out and reminiscing about old times last week when they went out for a slap-up meal at a private club in Mayfair.
