Ben Foster pulls off incredible reflex save during Watford training session

Watford keeper Ben Foster left his boss Nigel Pearson stunned after producing a brilliant reflex save during training.

The Hornets were back to work less than 24 hours after being dumped out of the FA Cup by League One Tranmere in a 2-1 third round replay defeat at Prenton Park.

Foster and the vast majority of first-team stars were given the night off, and the keeper was quick to show his worth with the close-range stop.

As the ball is played up the small-sided pitch, the opposition striker appears to have an easy finish.

Yet 36-year-old Foster moves swiftly across his goal to deflect the side-foot finish onto the bar as the whistle goes to end the session.

'Wow, oh what a save!' Pearson can be heard exclaiming after watching his stopper fling himself to stop the ball.

Having been eliminated from the FA Cup, the Hornets are not in action this weekend and will resume their quest for Premier League survival at home to Everton on February 1.

An impressive upturn in form under Pearson has seen the club climb from the bottom of the table up to 19th, in the relegation zone only on goal difference and level on points with Bournemouth and West Ham United.
