That was one of the only games since Zidane's reappointment where Karim Benzema didn't score.
In the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zidane hasn't found anyone other than Benzema to find the net frequently for Los Blancos.
In the 21 games since Zidane's return, Benzema has played more than anyone else, scoring 14 goals in 16 games.
The second highest scorer is Bale with three goals in 14 matches, followed by Mariano Diaz on two goals in five matches and then Isco with two goals in 14 matches.
Not even during the BBC era was there such a gap between one player, Ronaldo, and the rest.
Out of the 32 goals scored by Zidane's side this year, 18 have been shared between 14 players and 11 have those have just one goal each.
Real Madrid haven't racked up huge scorelines since Zidane's return either. They scored four goals in one game for the first time against Granada on Saturday, with their 3-0 win over Athletic Club last season their previous best.
Los Blancos currently lead LaLiga Santander having scored 16 times, behind Barcelona's tally of 20 and Villarreal's total of 19.
Zidane is looking for more goals, but not just from Benzema.
