Stoke striker Saido Berahino swore at reporters and photographers as he arrived at court on Wednesday morning to answer a charge of drink driving.

Berahino is appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court and was dressed in a suit jacket with a white shirt and black tie, ripped trousers and black trainers.

He did not appreciate being pictured by paparazzi on arrival and was heard saying: 'What the f*** are you doing? Get the f*** out the way…'.

Stoke temporarily suspended the England youth international after his arrest in January in Bloombury, London.

Their anger with Berahino over his arrest was exacerbated as the striker had claimed he missed training because he was ill.

The incident occurred a short distance from VQ restaurant where the 25-year-old had been dining. Berahino said he was taking evasive action from a group who had attacked him.

As previously reported by Sportsmail the Championship club are weighing up whether to sack Berahino after his drink-driving charge.

Stoke will study the outcome of his court appearance before making a final ruling on his future at the club.

Industry experts believe dismissal might be difficult to enact but Stoke have consulted lawyers on whether Berahino's behaviour counts as gross misconduct.

The former England Under-21 international has since been training alone at the club's Clayton Wood complex, with manager Nathan Jones furious over his actions.

His Stoke contract runs until 2022, which equates to more than £6million in total, and there is a theory the club would not get close to that figure in a transfer fee, so making him a free agent would represent business sense.

The 25-year-old joined Stoke from West Brom in January 2017 and has scored just five times in 56 appearances.

He has played 23 times in the Championship this season but has not featured since a substitute appearance against his former club on February 9.
