Bernardo Silva still wants to join PSG

Manchester City’s Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva (29) still wants to join Paris Saint-Germain, one year after initial discussions were curtailed by the Premier League club, reports Sports Zone.

Talks between the two clubs last summer were aborted as the deal did not suit Pep Guardiola’s side, who managed to negotiate an extension of the player’s contract that includes a clause that can be activated from summer 2024.

With that being said, PSG are said to be thinking twice about the deal due to the player’s age, Luis Enrique’s side having largely preferred youth over experience since the club’s commitment to shed the previous “Bling Bling” culture that saw the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lionel Messi and other star names signed despite their advancing age.

Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City from AS Monaco in July 2017 and his versatility and technical prowess have made him a key man in Guardiola’s all conquering team. He has 63 goals and 63 assists in 336 appearances for the club.
