Betting: Man City 8/1 for a trophy quadruple

Pep Guardiola's side edged out Chelsea on penalties at Wembley and their odds to win another three trophies this term have been cut accordingly

While it was a far cry from their 6-0 mauling of Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, the Carabao Cup final did see Manchester City emerge victorious.

The game finished goalless after 120 minutes at Wembley before Raheem Sterling slotted home the winning penalty to land City's first silverware of the campaign. Such is the respect afforded to them by the bookmakers, Pep Guardiola's men are favourites for the remaining three competitions, including an elusive maiden Champions League victory.

bet365 now make it 8/1 (9.0) that Manchester City sweep the board with a quadruple. That quote was as big as 16/1 (17.0) just a week ago.

Liverpool's bore draw with Manchester United saw Jurgen Klopp's side return to top spot in the Premier League, but City remain favourites to retain their domestic crown at 8/15 (1.53) with the online firm. The Reds are 13/8 (2.63) ahead of their midweek trip to Watford followed by Sunday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Having battled back from 2-1 down to secure a 3-2 win over Schalke in the final stages of their Champions League last 16 tie, City are now just 1/500 to qualify for the quarter finals of the competition.

Given the calibre of teams left in the competition this is undoubtedly the toughest test Guardiola's are likely to face over the coming months. They are firm favourites in the outright market at 11/4 (3.75) though, ahead of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain who are both 5/1 (6.0).

After being paired with Championship side Swansea, City are now trading at odds-on to add the FA Cup to their Carabao Cup triumph. It's just 4/5 (1.80) that the Citizens come out on top at Wembley in May with their rivals United next in the market at 7/2 (4.50).

There is still plenty of work to do for Guardiola's side and they haven't been at their blistering best in their previous two outings. At 8/1 (9.0) though, bet365 clearly believe there is a realistic chance of Manchester City sweeping all before them to record a historic trophy quadruple.
