In confident spirits after recent results, Al Hain-Cole is backing Sarri's men to come out on top against a Toffees team that struggles in big games

Chelsea have the chance to close the gap on the top four when they travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton in Sunday's Premier League clash.

Maurizio Sarri's men are one point behind Manchester United and three adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal, neither of whom are in league action this weekend.

Boasting a game in hand on both, they are 19/20 (1.95) favourites with SportPesa to move level with the Champions League places by coming out on top here.

The Toffees have won just one of their last six fixtures, and are priced 31/10 (4.10) to pull off a shock win in this one.

The last two encounters between the sides have both resulted in goalless draws, and there are odds of 53/20 (3.65) available on this one also finishing up all square.

Seamus Coleman could return after missing last week's defeat at Newcastle due to illness, although Leighton Baines remains injured, Phil Jagielka is doubtful and Kurt Zouma ineligible to face his parent club.

Gonzalo Higuain should return after not travelling to Ukraine for Thursday's Europa League clash with Dynamo Kiev due to illness.

For all the doom and gloom that hung over the club following the 6-0 thrashing at Manchester City and EFL Cup final defeat marred by the Kepa controversy, the Blues are actually in fair shape at the moment.

In a strong position for a top four place and having eased into the Europa League quarter-finals with an emphatic 8-0 aggregate win, they should be rightfully confident of overcoming an underperforming home side.

Last weekend's capitulation at Newcastle means Marco Silva's team has lost six of the last nine matches, while their form versus the top 10 does not bode well for this clash.

Only Fulham have collected fewer points against teams in the top half of the league than Everton's seven out of a possible 45, with their only victory coming away to 10th-placed Leicester way back in October.

All in all, those 19/20 (1.95) odds are surely worth backing on Chelsea extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches by coming out on top on Merseyside.
