Betting Tips: Lyon vs PSG

The World Cup winner cannot stop scoring and, having scored four times in this fixture in October, will be looking to pile more misery on the hosts

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping to maintain their 13-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 when they travel to Lyon on Sunday night.

Thomas Tuchel’s dominant outfit have won 18 of the 20 league games they have played, drawing the other two, but face a long spell without Neymar after the Brazilian was confirmed to miss 10 weeks of action.

Despite the news that their star striker will be out for this clash against Ligue 1’s third-placed side, PSG are still 888Sport’s 10/13 (1.77) favourites to take another three points.

Lyon can be backed at 29/10 (3.90) to be the first side to beat PSG in the league since Rennes managed it in May 2018, whilst the draw is available at 3/1 (4.0).

Although 10/13 (1.77) is a solid enough selection considering how impressive Les Parisiens have been this season, a better value bet can be found in the anytime goalscorer market.

Kylian Mbappe is already running roughshod over Ligue 1 this season with 18 goals in 15 games and looks an exceptional price at Evens (2.0) to score anytime on Sunday.

The 20-year-old has not been phased by the pressure of his £167 million move to the capital in 2017, scoring 31 goals in 36 league starts including six goals in his last four matches.

With the absence of Neymar, all eyes will be on Mbappe and Lyon will be having nightmares of the reverse fixture in Paris when the young Frenchman devastated them with four goals in 13 second half minutes.

Strike partner Edinson Cavani will also be looking to add to his tally of 16 Ligue 1 goals this season, having netted six across his last three, and is available at 23/25 (1.92).

The Even money (2.0) price on Mbappe to score with 888Sport, though, is too good to miss with Neymar out and the forward having enjoyed a tremendous day against this defence back in October.
