Birmingham City are trying to sign prolific Romania striker George Puscas from Palermo.
The 22-year old scored seven goals for Romania in the European Championships qualifying rounds and scored against Croatia, England and Germany during last month's finals.
Puscas joined Palermo from Inter Milan last year for £2.9million and he scored nine goals in Serie B.
The Blues parted company with Garry Monk last month after a dispute, with assistant Pep Clotet taking charge in his stead.
They were under transfer embargo until this summer's window, but received a 12-point deduction in the Championship.
