Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe admitted frustration after their Europa League defeat at home to Aston Villa last night.
Villa won the first-leg of their quarterfinal 3-1 in Italy.
Rowe, who was name-checked by Villa's two-goal Ollie Watkins as Bologna's most dangerous on the night, told his club's website: "We deserved more, we were also a bit unlucky. Football is strange sometimes.
"We played well and created a lot, but we made too many mistakes and paid for them."
Asked where things went wrong, Rowe added: "It's difficult to comment on a match like this: on top of the mistakes, we also lacked a bit of luck.
"The positive thing is that there's still the return leg, and anything can happen."
