Bournemouth eyeing European places after win at Wolves, says Scott

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott revealed that the club are eyeing a potential European push after their 2-0 win over Wolves.

Junior Kroupi lashed in a brilliant strike in the first half before Scott added a second in the 91st minute, extending Bournemouth's unbeaten run in the Premier League to four games.

The Cherries have won successive league games for just the second time this season, after recording three consecutive victories in the top-flight across August and September last year.

Scott, meanwhile, has been directly involved in a goal in both of his last two Premier League games for Bournemouth (one goal, one assist) – just one fewer than in his 65 previous appearances in the competition (three – two goals, one assist).

And with the Cherries now five points off the top four, albeit before Manchester United and Chelsea kick off later in the weekend, Scott believes they can start to look up the table.

"I'm really happy with that. A clean sheet is massive for us," said Scott.

"They're a tough side who have been playing well the last six games and deserve more points.

"We've always wanted to look up [the table]. There was a period where we were struggling, but since Christmas we've been very good. The only way is up now, hopefully."

And on his goal, which was assisted by debutant Rayan, Scott added: "It's something I've been working on. I'm trying to burst into the box to get onto the ball to score.

"We talk about it all the time, about getting to the back post. I'd have been killed if I didn't make that run. And I'm buzzing for Rayan, it was fantastic from him."
