Martin Braithwaite is one of the players that Barcelona could look to move on this summer, as they try to reduce their massive wage bill.

The Danish international has no intention of leaving, however, and shone in Barcelona's LaLiga opener against Real Sociedad. The forward scored a double and provided an assist for Sergi Roberto in his side's 4-2 win at the Camp Nou.

Head coach Ronald Koeman opted for a front three of Memphis Depay, Antoine Griezmann and Braithwaite in what was Barcelona's first match without Lionel Messi.

Koeman has asked for more from his forwards following Messi's departure and Braithwaite certainly stood up to the plate.

"I'm really happy as we wanted to win and we've done that," Braithwaite said after the match.

"It was important to get the three points. People were expecting a lot from us and we've worked hard to give them what they wanted."

The former Leganes man could be sold, but he wants to stay and fight for his place at the club after a good European Championship with Denmark.

"It's been a good summer," he continued.

"I've gotten my confidence back and I'm feeling great right now. I'm sure I'll keep improving throughout the season."

Koeman is still asking the club to consider bringing in one more attacking player in this window, despite the financial difficulties they are currently facing.

"The people at the club are aware that we're a bit light in attack," Koeman said.

"We're looking, but everything depends on financial fair play."

One thing is for sure, though, which is that Braithwaite will do all he can to convince his manager that he deserves a place in this Barcelona side.

If he can't do that, though, then his best Blaugrana moment of the season may also have been his last.
