Brentford stuttered in their fight to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League after losing 2-0 at home to Barnsley.
Goals from Conor Chaplin and Carlton Morris inflicted Brentford's fourth league defeat of the season in a hard-fought contest with plenty of physicality.
The Bees missed a golden opportunity to go top of the table over Norwich, and are five points ahead of Swansea in third who have two games in hand.
Barnsley hassled and harried Brentford throughout the match, notching up 14 fouls in the first half alone. It paid dividends early on when Conor Chaplin touched in a Callum Brittain cross to put the Tykes ahead in the 13th minute.
The match wore on with few clear cut chances before immediately after the half-time break Carlton Morris smashed from the centre of the penalty area to give Barnsley a 2-0 lead.
Brentford enjoyed the lion's share of possession but could not find a way through. Of the 13 shots they had at goal, only three were on target.
