Brighton and Southampton are among the clubs following Hertha Berlin's highly-rated teenage midfielder Teoman Gunduz.
The 18-year-old has been capped by Turkey at U18 level but is being watched closely by the German national side's coaching staff who regard him as one of the best prospects playing in their country.
An athletic, aggressive box to box midfielder, he is already drawing lofty comparisons to the likes of former Germany captain Lothar Matthaus and Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan.
Yet what makes Gunduz stand out further is his outstanding goals record with 14 from 11 games in midfield for the club's U19s making him their top scorer so far this season.
His performances prompted a promotion to their U23s and he is tipped for the first team with Hertha putting greater faith in their youth system.
However, as much as they see Gunduz as one for the future, Hertha have still to reach agreement on a new contract. As it stands, Gunduz will become free in the summer.
That has alerted a number of clubs across Europe, including the likes of Andrea Pirlo's Fatih Karagumruk in Turkey. Brighton and Southampton are among the English contingent following.
Gunduz would struggle to meet current work permit requirements but could get through on an initial loan - that may suit the south coast pair who both have partnerships with sister clubs Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium and Goztepe of Turkey, respectively.
