Brighton have signed 18-year-old Poland international Kacper Kozlowski from Pogon Szczecin and immediately loaned him out to Belgian club Royal Union Saint-Gilloise until the end of the season.
Kozlowski has six caps for Poland and is the youngest-ever player to play at a European Championship, featuring at last summer's Euro 2020 at the age of just 17 years and 246 days.
Brighton have agreed an eight million pound fee for Kozlowski with Pogon Szczecin, where he came through the academy and made his senior debut, and have signed him to a four-and-a-half-year contract.
Kozlowski will arrive in the summer
Although the midfielder already has top-flight, European and international experience, Brighton clearly see him as one for the future, hence he won't join his new teammates until the summer and will instead gain valuable playing time at Union SG, who are owned by Seagulls chairman Tony Bloom.
"His style of play suits us and our style," said Brighton manager Graham Potter.
"During my time here, we have done very well in recruiting players for the future and Kacper is a similar signing.
"He will initially head out on loan, as it is important for him to continue his development, and he is keen to continue playing regularly. We will be watching with interest, as he is a very exciting young talent."
Brighton are currently ninth in the Premier League and their next match is away to West Brom on Saturday in the third round of the FA Cup.
