Bristol City have completed the permanent signing of Kasey Palmer from Chelsea for £3.5million.

22-year-old Palmer, who can play as an attacking midfielder or out wide, enjoyed a successful loan spell at City in the second half of last season.

The England youth international has signed a four year contract at Ashton Gate and City head coach Lee Johnson is delighted to have completed the deal.

Johnson told the club's official website: 'I've been really impressed with his application and focus over the off-season period.

'Kasey has made big sacrifices to come here and we truly believe Bristol City and Kasey will be a fantastic match moving forward.'

Palmer scored two goals and provided one assist in 17 appearances for City last season.

In 2013, Palmer joined Chelsea's academy from Charlton Athletic and proceeded to enjoy much success with the Blues at youth level, winning the UEFA Youth League twice in addition to two FA Youth Cups and the Under-21 Premier League.
