Bruno Fernandes reveals struggle to follow orders from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes admits he is struggling to curb his natural instinct during matches, despite being told to calm down by manager Ole Gunnar Solskajer.

Fernandes has been a revelation since signing for the club in January, and was a huge driving factor behind United achieving a third-placed finish and wrapping up Champions League qualification.

Despite his blistering introduction however Fernandes admits his manager is now constantly on at him to reduce his running, which he is finding particularly tough to listen to.

Speaking this week to United's official website, Fernandes said: 'He [Solskjaer] says to me a lot of times "sometimes you do so many runs and some runs aren’t for you – you need to shout someone else to run, because after you are tired and, when you take the ball, you will not be fresh."

'But it’s instinct, it’s part of my game. I can’t control this. I’m like this and I want to help the team every time.

'In the game, you don’t think, you just run. For me, that’s enough.

'I think the most important thing is to help the team and if you help the team it’s OK.'

Fernandes is soon set to return to United pre-season training, as Solskjaer looks to get regroup his side and ensure their recent Europa League semi-final heartache is firmly behind them.

Solskjaer must move swiftly to get things under control at Old Trafford, and handle the fall-out following captain Harry Maguire's recent arrest in Greece.

On Thursday however it emerged that Fernandes' midfield partner Paul Pogba has tested positive for coronavirus, and has been omitted from the upcoming France national squad as a result.
