Bruno Fernandes could not hide his disappointment at full-time after Liverpool imposed a 7-0 defeat on Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
Captain Fernandes was one of United's worst performers as he appeared to spend more time complaining than trying to get his team back into the match and was additionally criticised by Gary Neville for his behaviour.
Fernandes fronted up in a post-match interview and told Sky Sports that Liverpool's defeat was a 'really bad result' for him and his team-mates to take.
'It's frustrating. It’s a really bad result, we came here with a different mindset. The first half was really good, we controlled most of it, the second half was nit at our level,' said Fernandes.
'We give too much space away. We know what a threat they are. It was not our level. We know we can be better. Its just about going to the next game.
'The team tries to react but we lost a bit of balance and control. We gave too much space to a team that is strong on the counter. The games our coming quick.
'We know this team is really good and can do really good things. We have set a really good standard for ourselves, now its just about getting back to that.
'We are still in the Europa League and A Cup, we have to get back on track. We are in the hunt to win the next game against [Real] Betis. We have to go game by game,' added the Portuguese.
Fernandes has been one of United's leaders this season but seemed to lack all the leadership skills of a captain in his side's biggest hammering of the season.

It was just a bad for our team today they've been doing so well in the past 11 games. We don't finger point individually on who was the causer of the defeat. The team Wins, draw and lose together. We raise our heads up and move on to the next game. This is football a better team always comes out victorious. congratulations to liverpool for playing better and uses their chances

He should have seen a couple cards. His kickout on Konate because he didn't get a call for the handball and his pushing the assistant referee. He was protected. Not to mention his dive and roll in the box for a penalty.
