Liverpool have moved to within nine points of Premier League leaders Manchester City with a game in hand after a 1-0 win away at Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
Match Report
Jurgen Klopp's side ended Burnley's six-game unbeaten streak at home in the Premier League in what was a hard-fought game at Turf Moor.
Fresh off their draw with Manchester United during the week, Sean Dyche's men started brightly and came close through Josh Brownhill's early strike from 25 yards, which forced Alisson Becker in the Liverpool goal into a good save.
Naby Keita had a go from long distance but Nick Pope was equal to it, and January signing Wout Weghorst blew two great chances when he put it wide twice after going through on his own.
Fabinho's goal
Top sides punish you when you don't make the most of the big moments and Liverpool did just that when Fabinho bundled the ball over from a corner to put his side ahead five minutes before half time.
Liverpool did what they do best and shut up shop in the second half, limiting the home side to a speculative from Weghorst which didn't do much to trouble Alisson.
Klopp's side didn't offer a lot going forward in the second period but held on for the three points.
This won't be a game that Liverpool fans look back on fondly in terms of performance, but it keeps them in the title race while Burnley languish at the bottom of the table with just one win all season.
