Burnley are in talks with Derby County over a proposed swap deal involving Matej Vydra and Nahki Wells.

Vydra is valued at around £11million and has seen a number of proposed moves fall through this summer so far, notably to Leeds United.

Wells has been struggling to make an impact on the first team at Burnely since his move from Huddersfield Town.

It is understood that Vydra would join the Clarets permanently, while Wells would link up with Frank Lampard's side on loan.

Vydra was expected to move to Elland Road earlier in the window, but failed to agree personal terms and is now set to step up to the Premier League.

Derby, meanwhile, are still pursuing a deal for Ipswich striker Martyn Waghorn after matching Middlesbrough's £5m offer.
