Burnley manager Sean Dyche has called on football's governing bodies to stamp out diving because he believes it has 'gone too far' and no one wants to do anything about it.
He has been vocal about diving in the past — claiming that football authorities have told him not to use the word 'cheating' when referring to diving — but reiterated his stance after accusing three Arsenal players of doing it during Burnley's 3-1 defeat on Sunday.
'No one seems to want to do anything about diving in the game apart from me,' said Dyche. 'I'm still amazed by it. Kids everywhere are watching, all copying it. No one seems to care about it. I want to see people banned because, if they were, it would evaporate out of the game.
'You wouldn't ruffle your kids' hair if they come home after school and cheated in a maths' test. They cheat at a game of football and it's OK. It's almost like "well done, we got away with that one".
'I'm not talking about gamesmanship, that has been there ever since I was playing and that was a long time ago. You clip a centre-forward in the box and he goes down. End of story. I'm not talking about that.
'I'm talking about blatant diving. Cheating. Where there has been no contact at all and people are falling over.
'The powers-that-be have to get their heads together. The Premier League, the FA, the PGMOL – they've all got to get their heads together because it's gone too far.
'The first two players that was absolutely alarming in the view of the public — and they were fantastic players so let's clear that up for a start — were Jurgen Klinsmann and Didier Drogba.
'When they came over and started diving it was: "We can't have this". It was on Match of the Day every week. It was everywhere. It slowly morphed into our culture here. Now, it's every week and no one hardly mentions it.'
Dyche refused to confirm which incidents he was referring to on Sunday, but it is understood he was talking about incidents involving Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi. So far this season, 11 Premier League players have been booked for diving — three of them from Arsenal.
'Nothing will happen retrospectively,' said Dyche. 'And if one of their players [Guendouzi] had been booked for it, then he would have been off.
'Matej Vydra goes through with Xhaka and touches him marginally on his shoulder and Xhaka goes down and gets a free-kick. Going down after hardly anything. Incredible.'

Richarlison does it for us all the time and it does my head in , retrospective 3 game ban for cheating and fine the players and the club
Yet if your defender made a last ditch tackle and took the man out you'd probably say he took one for the team. Diving is no worse than any other foul

It's time the powers that be started banning players for minimum 5 games when they are seen on video diving or cheating. Refs seem to ignore what they see weekly on TV and allow the same things to happen 8n their own matches
That would leave Spurs without an outfield player for the majority of the season.

In fairness as an Arsenal fan we do go to ground far too easily and I hate to see it. Guendouzi is the worst offender for it and just dives to the ground when facing his own goal if he can't see a pass. Cannot stand watching it.
Right, it has nothing to do with players going through the back of him. He's developed the skill to combat the anti-football being played in the premier league. We've got Fellaini pulling his hair, Barnes driving a vicious knee in his back, people chopping him down from behind when he runs into space, etc. If you can't stop him then foul him, that's the ticket. What a bunch of crap.

The sport is becoming unwatchable. Constant diving and feigning injury along with no proper tackling have ruined it.

Dyche loves making himself relavent by moaning and claiming to be on high ground, just shut up and start winning games before we highlight the diving statistics from your boys..

Sour grapes as his over the top being aggressive didn't win him the game - I watched him applaud one of his players who went straight through and got booked - his applause was for the effort made not sarcasm, bully boy tactics might win the odd game but will never come out on top - go back to the championship !

Barnes strangles Sokratis, puts a hard knee in the back of a 19 year old kid (plus almost stomps his chest) and Dyche has the stones to say anything about how the game went is insane to me. He sent his boys out to try and put a hurting on Arsenal (as more then a few teams have this season) and they received five yellow cards instead of the straight red they deserved. I hope they enjoy tearing up the championship with Stoke next season as they aren't fit for the premiership anymore.

Kolasinac put his hands on Longs back who fell over BACKWARDS. If he had been pushes he would have fallen forwards. A dive then Mr Dyche you hypocrite, cheating also applies to your players.

Burnley today were committing cynical fouls. They were dirty and fighting at every opportunity. At least 2 of there players were lucky not to get red cards. With there approach and attitude, they look like relegation material.
