Caicedo: My injury layoff was agonizing; we want to return Chelsea to its rightful place

In the 6th round of the Premier League, Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 5-1 at home. After the match, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, who had recovered from injury, spoke in an official club interview. He discussed the agony of his time on the sidelines, the feeling of returning to the pitch, the support he received from fans, and the upcoming matches against Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man United.

Reporter: Moi, great to see you. Welcome back to the team. How are you feeling?

Caicedo: Thank you very much. To be honest, it feels amazing. I'm really happy to be back with the team, and there's no better way to mark my return than with a victory.

Reporter: You've had to be incredibly patient. We saw you come off the bench for 14 minutes against Brighton before you were sidelined with an injury. How difficult was that period? You must have been desperate to get back on the field.

Caicedo: Yes, honestly, I suffered a lot because it was a very difficult time for me. There were several games where I couldn't be with the team, but now I'm finally back. I prayed a lot because I just wanted to be with the team every moment. So now that I can return, I feel very happy, to be honest.

Reporter: You're a player with a strong desire to win, as we've seen over the past few years. You want to be on the field fighting for every minute of every game, don't you?

Caicedo: Yes, exactly. So honestly, I'm starting to enjoy football again now. I'm very happy to be with the team, with the fans in the stadium, and everyone else. Now we have to keep giving our all and keep training hard because we must return to the top.

Reporter: Indeed. You played just over an hour today. How do your legs feel after your first game back?

Caicedo: To be honest, I feel a bit tired. After all, I hadn't played officially for a long time, and I have to be extra careful in the initial stages of my return. Overall, though, I feel great.

Reporter: How special is today for you, making your return in such a match, with such an excellent performance and a convincing victory?

Caicedo: Yes, very special. It's always wonderful to play in front of our home fans; they supported us throughout, and they deserve this victory. I hope this win gives them a happy weekend. We need to keep moving forward because we want to bring Chelsea back to where it belongs.

Reporter: You mentioned the fans. You have a deep emotional connection with them here. When your name was announced before the game, the cheers from the stands were deafening; they clearly love you.

Caicedo: Yes, it was wonderful, an incredible feeling. I truly felt their love for me, so I want to repay them on the field. That's why I try my best to give everything for my team and for the fans. I'm also very happy with my performance today.

Reporter: It's perfect timing for your return after the international break. A series of highly anticipated big matches awaits: Tottenham, Liverpool, Man United. Big clashes are coming one after another. You must be looking forward to this schedule.

Caicedo: Yes, very much so. Everyone is excited to face such big matches. Playing in these games is always thrilling, and without a doubt, we will be fully prepared because we want to get as many points as possible.

Reporter: Fantastic, welcome back.

Caicedo: Thank you very much.
