Sol Campbell is 'being sued for £810,000' after 'pulling out of buying a £3.85million flat' in London, according to The Sun.

The outlet claims that the former England captain and his partner, Fiona, had 'put a ten percent deposit of £387,500 down' on the apartment which is reportedly located in Cadogan Square, in Knightsbridge.

The owner of the property, Lady Jadranka Beresford-Peirse, had reportedly said that the pair had 'signed a contract to purchase the flat in 2021' but have not paid the outstanding balance.

She has, according to The Sun, now lodged papers to the High Court and is seeking more than £800k in losses.

The news outlet states that Lady Jadranka has 'accused them of a breach of contract after failing to pay the outstanding balance on the apartment'.

She is also reportedly 'seeking an order for the pair to buy the flat and pay her compensation'.

Back in 2021, Mail Online had reported that Campbell, who won 73 caps for England, had put his eight-bed Grade II-listed Chelsea townhouse up for sale for £24m.

It is also understood that he knocked £4m off the price of the property in 2022.

Campbell enjoyed a glittering career as a player, winning the Premier Leauge twice with Arsenal, and would retire from professional football in 2011, after spells with Tottenham, Arsenal, Portsmouth, Notts County and Newcastle.

After hanging up his boots, he would go into coaching, taking up the assistant manager's position with the Trinidad national team alongside head coach Dennis Lawrence.

He would subsequently go on to be appointed manager of Macclesfield and more recently Southend United.

Campbell married interior designer Fiona Barratt, the granddaughter of Sir Lawrie ‘Brickie’ Barratt, the founder of Barratt Homes.
