Carlo Ancelotti let Eder Militao be his Real Madrid assistant for a day

Los Blancos have La Liga wrapped up and with a Champions League final against Liverpool on the horizon, Ancelotti decided to rotate his side on Thursday evening.

Militao was given the night off and Jesus Vallejo took his place in the starting XI. If you think he did no work, think again.

Footage from before the game has emerged and Ancelotti asked the defender to take a seat next to him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Militao was then handed a folder which appeared to contain information on Levante and how Real will set up for the game.

He turned to Ancelotti and the pair engaged in conversation after closing the folder.

Real would run out 6-0 winners thanks to goals from Ferland Mendy, Karim Benzema, Rodrygo and a Vinicius Jr. hat-trick.

Real know they'll have to be at their best to beat Jurgen Klopp's men in two weeks time, but Ancelotti has already explained how his side will set up.

"4-3-3," the 62-year-old told AS when asked about a formation. "Sometimes it can happen to a 4-4-2. I think there is no defined system, sometimes to press the pivot, as we did against the City, you go from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1-1.

"The idea doesn't change much, just a little the way to defend the opponent, to pressure them."
