Jamie Carragher says Arsenal failed to sign a world-class attacking player before the transfer window closed.
The Premier League champions targeted Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid and Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid, but neither move materialized.

Christos Tzolis, who joined from Club Brugge for £34 million ($45 million), was their only attacking reinforcement. Trossard, Jesus and Nwaneri departed, while Martinelli is still negotiating with Al-Hilal, whose transfer window remains open.
Carragher told Sky Sports: "They've got really good forwards. I like Havertz, and I think Arteta likes him too."
"Gyökeres has been what many expected — not quite elite, but he can still score goals in specific matches. They can rely on him this season.
They need someone who can change games. They tried to sign Vinicius and Álvarez — those are the calibre of players they wanted.
"It's hard for Arsenal to improve much further now because they are a very good team with a strong squad. You're only talking about world-class players; only those types can help them improve. They tried to sign them, but couldn't get the deals done."

he's right, Odegaard is a liability...he's too dependent, too central and lacking flexibility towards the goal...he's just good at delaying passes and pointing fingers...he's the reason we had to fight with city for the tittle last season, after he come back from injury he finds Merino and Eze playing on our AM and we where thriving with 9pts clear at the top,and less dependent on setpieces...what happened when he become prioritized again in the AM...he cost us two UCL...coz if positions like AM need someone who can take pressure out of the midfield by being flexible...he's the reason we're even going to lose against Chelsea if Arteta don't use Merino...
I agree mate, he simply runs across the line, and always plays to his wingers he seldom puts a line breaking ball to our front runners and usually over hits it. Eze and i believe Guimaraes line breaking passes are usually perfectly weighted for the runners. Arteta has got to play fair and stop always playing his favourites.:- Odegaard and Havertz are the main 2. Havertz should learn the off side rule.

I am an arsenal fan since 2005, if arsenal get a better replacement for odegard in this our current squad. we'll be capable of beating any team. our main problem start from odegard

Carrragher knew nothing in football, arsenal are only defend on Saka left wing not strikers the problems is if Saka got injury potential of getting goals goes minimal, not they have shifted their attention on midfield and defence introductions of Gumaries can reborn the attack since he wons duels and hold ball so wi need attacks more
