Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City remains uncertain and Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has spoken out on rumours that he could potentially leave the club at the end of the season.
Jamie Carragher has hailed Pep Guardiola as the greatest football manager of all time as he prepares for his ‘last dance’ at Manchester City. The Spanish coach has endured a glittering spell at the Etihad Stadium since his arrival in 2016.
Guardiola has lifted six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups and three League Cups. But there is speculation that he might only have a few months remaining with City.
And giving his verdict on Guardiola’s future, ex-Liverpool star Carragher believes he could indeed be on the way out. He also suggests that Guardiola would be leaving with the reputation as the best coach in football history in tact.
Writing in a column for The Telegraph, Carragher said: “Pep Guardiola is the greatest football coach of all time and we should cherish every remaining minute of his Premier League career. It feels like we are watching Guardiola’s last dance in England.

“The clues are mounting up, pointing to the idea that he will end his Manchester City reign at the end of this season, with succession plans being formulated and his club’s recent transfer activity smacking of his hierarchy doing everything in its power to ensure he leaves with another trophy.
“If an announcement is imminent before May, Guardiola’s peerless contribution to elevating Premier League standards must and will be acknowledged. He is the No 1.
“Some managers are legends because they win. Others leave their mark because they change and elevate the game. Guardiola ticks all the boxes, winning trophies in such a fashion that his legacy extends way beyond the clubs he has managed.

“The multiple titles Guardiola won at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are just one facet of his career. His broader impact separates him from others.”
Guardiola, 55, remains under contract with City until 2027, having only penned an extension in 2024. Should he leave the Etihad this season, then he could well round off his spell with even more silverware.
City have reached the Carabao Cup final, where they will take on Arsenal. Guardiola’s side are also going head-to-head with the Gunners for the Premier League title and they sit six points behind their rivals in the table ahead of this weekend’s clash with Liverpool.
Arsenal in the meantime take on surprise package Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

I dont agree. He is a great coach, may be one of the best, but he reformed football in a bad way. Everybody wants to play his style and footbal became the mixture of basketball and handball…..so no, not for me. His football is boring…
better watch rugby and Mourinho, you can't cheat Europeans!

Why are people pushing Pep out, really? He has a running contract at the Etihad till 2027. City has collected every silverware, and the legends of other teams are not liking it. Leave Pep alone.

Arsenal fans You are enjoying Arteta today you because he trained under pep. Pep gave him the opportunity to come and work with him, is because of pep affiliation with him that attracted arsenal owners to hire him for the job. Anyone who works under pep easily get job at other clubs. stop being salty and hatred for this great football manager tactician.

Greatest coach of all time, no doubt about that. But not even in the top 3 for greatest managers!!
He came to England and everyone says England is tough, he won 6 league medals 🏅 in 10 seasons… 4 straight league medals 🏅 and you’re comparing him with Mourinho. Oponu

Still running from the point smh 😂. Take win. And why u keep saying my mourinho?
You don’t have point nah, so why won’t you be laughing 😆. I’m not lying that he was sacked more than 5 times in his coaching career and he’s a top coach. Even he was sacked at Real Madrid… soon he will sacked by benfica again because Porto and sporting are ahead of him by far

Your Mourinho was sacked twice by Chelsea, sacked by Man U, sacked by Tottenham, sacked by fenerbache. Well he’s cashing out with sacking sha but don’t compare him with Guardiola. He can’t compete with galatasary and he was sacked, sacked by Roma again.

Are u going to name the club he has managed single-handedly or just list out what he has won? U lot really don’t read and understand. I am not taking away anything from pep, he is the greatest coach of all time. HE IS NOT A MANAGER. NEVER WAS!!
League medals alone he has won. Your Mourinho doesn’t have 3 quarters of it not to talk of other trophies

Dindinrin rating Mourinho ahead of Guardiola…. OBO ni e. You too think of it yourself, in terms of personal achievement he’s ahead of him, club’s achievements he’s ahead of him. Trophies won 🏅 he’s ahead of him. He spent 10 seasons in EPL with 6 EPL medals 🏅 won not to talk of other achievements… Barcelona is there, we can’t forget his achievements with my club, Bayern is there too. Dindinrin, throughout his career he’s not been sacked for once. Your Mourinho has sacked records among other coaches. Oponu… you know nothing about football

SAF, Ancelotti and Mourinho. Could stick Wenger in there as well. U lot get mixed up with coaching and managing an entire club. Pep has never had to do that. Always has everything in place before he even arrives!!
