Mohamed Salah can sharpen Liverpool's attack with a renewed threat into his mid-30s thanks to his 'evolving' game, says Jamie Carragher.
The winger has been handed a fresh two-year contract worth £380,000 per week and looks as potent as ever.
Salah, 32, has broken the Premier League record for the most goals and assists in a 38-match season with 45 contributions - and six games to spare.
His tally of 18 assists is also a Liverpool record for a Premier League season.
And Carragher and Thierry Henry believes that Salah's evolution into a deadly assister is what will help him stay relevant - even if he will not run in behind as much as he ages.
'It'll be interesting if that jump in numbers stays the same over the next two years,' Carragher told Monday Night Football.
'The evolution of Salah, he's always been a goalscorer but he hasn't always gotten these assists. I think when Liverpool go into the market in the summer, they'll be looking for someone with real pace.
'I think we might see more of this from Mo Salah, where he's the guy who is not always making runs in behind people but, where he's getting the ball in the pocket and feeding people in and playing people in.
'Normal wingers put the ball in the box and hopefully one of the attacking players get it.
'A lot of the time this season, it feel like he's he's not crossing, he's passing it into the box. When I think of the assists Mo Salah has got this season, they're this type of assist. A pass to the back post and someone coming in.'
Henry added: 'When you can do both (score and assist), it's just outstanding.
'The desire he has had to adapt and be better. You don't have a lot of players who adapt while they are at the top. They do it when it is too late. The numbers are just ridiculous.'
Salah has now surpassed Henry, who had 44 goal involvements for Arsenal in the 2002-03 season and Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, who matched that feat 20 years later.
There is now another record on the horizon for Salah as he aims to overtake Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, who registered 47 goal involvements each for Newcastle and Blackburn respectively during 42-game seasons.
It has been a superb season for Salah, who has contributed with 27 goals and 18 assists in the Premier League so far this season.
Salah had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and stated in November that he was 'more out than in' with regards to his Liverpool future.
However, Salah expressed his delight at remaining at Liverpool.
'Of course I'm very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football,' he told the club website.
'It's great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it's going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.
'I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we'll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we're going to win more trophies.'
In August 2023 Al-Ittihad had a bid of £150million for Salah rejected.
