Jamie Carragher felt sorry for Granit Xhaka after he was booed off by Arsenal fans.
The Gunners midfielder told his fans to 'f*** off' after hearing the boos when he was substituted off.
Carragher believes there should be sympathy for Xhaka even though he hasn't apologised.
'I think it might be difficult for him to continue as captain. I actually feel a little bit sorry for him, ' Carragher told Sky Sports.
'He gets a lot of criticism from Arsenal fans. I think criticism for a player should come if they refuse to play like Koscielny.
'But he’s played more games for Arsenal than anyone. He doesn’t pretend he’s injured.
'I think Emery made it a big issue with voting for the captain. He’s now seen as Emery’s man.
'I’m not having a go at Arsenal fans. The biggest mistake he’s made was he didn’t apologise. There have been a lot worse [mistakes].

Xhaka gets paid millions to play a child’s game chasing a ball, grow up and try a real job where you can barely pay the bills like many of your fans, apologize or leave Arsenal spoiled brat

arsenal fans are a joke (those who abused), end of story, if you are against racism, this type of abusing is also brutal and equally hurtful..whether he is playing badly or not, no one deserved to be abused like that especially from own fans, not to mention he is the captain as well, why fans dont give him time to proof himself as a captain..the fans really shouldnt started this to release their frustration on own players, pure pathetic
