Cascarino, a former Ireland international and Chelsea player, said on a show that he believes Tottenham Hotspur should keep England's rising star Gray.
Cascarino said on talkSPORT: "I hope they don't lose Gray."
"He was the best player in the team before De Zerbi arrived, and De Zerbi immediately excluded him as soon as he took office, because he never found a fixed position. He played midfield, wing-back, and center-back, doing a lot of work, and often selflessly, but he never had a fixed position."
"I thought De Zerbi didn't like that at the time, but I hope he can find a way, because I think Gray is really talented."
"Bergvall may leave the club, but I don't think Tottenham should lose Gray. To me, he still has the qualities of a true player."
