Every manager has their specialties. Unai Emery know how to win the Europa League, Antonio Conte wins the dometic titles and Jurgen Klopp can get you through a European semi-final.
The German will of course hope to enhance his CV with even more glory in Europe but his track record in the last four is a good omen for Liverpool as they take on LaLiga side Villarreal in the Champions League tonight.
The Reds have been here before as they bid for a seventh triumph in the Champions League title against Emery and Co, and they will be buoyed by good memories of how they showed steel to reach a European final in each of their last three attempts.
The games have usually been entertaining too, with 24 goals altogether and some truly memorable encounters that will go down in history.
Sportsmail has taken a look at all three ties where Klopp showed he is the master of the European semi-final and how he steered his side through both legs.
LIVERPOOL v VILLARREAL - EUROPA LEAGUE, 2016 (3-1 AGG)
Villarreal will have the chance for revenge against their opponents tonight after Liverpool saw them off to reach the 2016 Europa League final, and while the record books smile upon Klopp's men, the Spanish side are almost a totally different team in present day.
Back then, Liverpool had romped to a 3-0 first leg lead against the Yellow Submarine, with midfielder Bruno Soriano putting through his own net inside ten minutes from Roberto Firmino's cross to hand the home side a perfect start at Anfield.
In the second half, Daniel Sturridge prodded home just past the hour mark when Firmino's shot was deflected and rolled kindly into his path.
Liverpool practically had one foot in the final when Adam Lallana made it 3-0 in the 81st minute when Firmino capped off a marvellous display by dancing into the area before dinking a ball back to Sturridge. His scuffed effort fell to the feet of the former Southampton man, who just needed to poke it over the line.
It was a dominant display throughout, with Liverpool bossing the possession (60 per cent) and having 25 shots on goal - Villarreal's night being made harder by Victor Ruiz's sending off on 71 minutes.
It looked a routine task for Liverpool in the second leg, but the squad were aware it's never done and dusted in Europe and it proved to be a testing away trip as Klopp's men sat tight and failed to add to their advantage.
They ultimately held on to see out the tie - even though Adrian Lopez netted in stoppage time for a consolation to reduce the deficit.
It wasn't to be in the final, where tournament heavyweights Sevilla saw them off to win 3-1.
LIVERPOOL v ROMA - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, 2018 (7-6 AGG)
Roma had been one of the surprise packages of the 2017-18 Champions League and a team that no one wanted to face after stunning the football world by knocking out European heavyweights Barcelona in the quarter-finals.
But Liverpool banished those fears by making mince meat out of them - in the first leg at least.
They were 2-0 up by half time thanks to Mohamed Salah's double - the first an incredible curled strike with his left peg that went in off the post, the second a simple lob over the keeper after racing clear.
An irresistible Salah had the easy task of putting a square ball on a plate for Sadio Mane to add a third before the Egyptian then set up Firmino from a nearly identical scenario.
The Brazilian added his second of the night by nodding home from a corner to leave Liverpool in dreamland and cruising to the Champions League final, but Roma proved there was still life in the tie yet.
Former Man City striker Edin Dzeko collected a lofted through ball on his chest before slotting home ten minutes from time, before Diego Perotti pulled another one back from the penalty spot just moments later.
It made for a slightly more intriguing second leg, with Roma picking up the two away goals, though Liverpool could not have imagined the turmoil they would have to go through to seal a place in the final.
Still three up on aggregate in Rome, Liverpool enjoyed a great start to put their nerves at ease as Sadio Mane with a simple drilled finish from the left hand side, before Dejan Lovren incredible kicked a clearance into James Milner which cannoned into his own net.
It wasn't long before Liverpool had their second leg lead again as Roma failed to clear a corner and Gini Wijnaldum glanced a header into an empty net to hand his side a 7-3 lead and surely a place in the final.
But Roma would make them sweat over it - as Dzeko tapped home from a rebound before Radja Naiggolan's long range strike beat Simon Mignolet in goal and then the Belgian added another from the spot in the dying minutes.
Roma's comeback came too late in the day and Liverpool survived - going on to the final, where they were beaten 3-1 by another Spanish side in Real Madrid.
LIVERPOOL v BARCELONA - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, 2019 (4-3 AGG)
A hat-trick of Spanish opponents in European semi-finals but this was by far the most special for Liverpool and their fans after doing the impossible against Barcelona.
It should have been impossible, after the Reds were roasted by the Catalan outfit with a 3-0 loss in the first leg.
It was Liverpool's former hero Luis Suarez who set Barcelona on their way against his former club, guiding home Jordi Alba's cross and celebrating wildly against his old side, with the match then turning into the Lionel Messi show.
First, he drove forwards at goal before playing in Suarez. His shot rattled off the crossbar and the Argentine was left with the routine task of rolling it home.
Then - the spectacular as he rifled in a ridiculous free kick from about 35 yards out, arrowing the ball into the top left hand corner to leave Liverpool stunned.
Liverpool were swiftly written off for the second leg, knowing they would have to score four unanswered goals to go through - knowing that was nigh-on impossible. But there was a miracle in the offing.
The Reds needed a quick goal to have any chance of clawing back this contest and they got it as Alba awkwardly headed the ball back towards his own defence and Mane pounced on it, setting up Henderson, whose shot was deflected out to the feet of Divock Origi, who couldn't miss from two yards out.
That early strike got the Anfield crowd right up for it as Barcelona looked on nervously, though the home side had to wait until the second half for the second.
Another mistake by Alba saw Trent Alexander-Arnold nip in ahead of him, before playing a pinpoint cross to Wijnaldum, who smashed home past Andre ter Stegen to make it two and really put the pressure on.
Wijnaldum was the double to incredibly level the contest with more than half an hour to play as he powered home Xherdan Shaqiri's clipped ball in to send fans into pandemonium.
And the remarkable turnaround was complete in the most bizarre of circumstances when Alexander-Arnold showed quick instincts to take a lightning fast corner with half of the Barcelona team asleep.
He pretended to walk away from the set piece before quickly drilling it to the near post where Origi was on hand to thump home from close range with Barcelona defenders looking baffled after being caught unawares.
It sealed one of the most unbelievable nights in Champions League history - and was pivotal as Liverpool went on to lift the trophy after a 2-0 win over Tottenham in the final in Madrid.

Messi could break because he is at psg and cr7 is not afraid to retire he is still motivated but maybe his body will not permit for a long time but I have a feeling Messi will retire before cr7 but these two have already accomplished much more so whoever retires first their records will be intact
Cr7 is motivated cause he knows his records can be broken By messi . I think CR7 will only retire if Messi does

He means Alba. His typo is obvious from how he typed other names like Coutinho as well. You seem to have a big brain without common sense.

It was group stage in UCL 2020. Barca was knocked out by Bayern. Of course Juventus won the second round in group stage.

No hate , i admire the hard work CR7 puts. But i really think hes AFRAID to retire cause if he retires and messi is 2 years younger ... than messi will break all his records again... i think that’s why he’s pushing himself to the limit. And before you say messi is finished look at PSG ... he isn’t even happy there... but i bet he will get his form back if he’s happy ..... anyhow messi isnt far from all those stats of UCL that CR7 made

For the idiots who as usual try to suggest that it’s Leo’s fault Barca did not progress through that game . No it was not . Liverpool were completely dominant over Barca at NUCamp and the score should have been different had it not been for Leo and that Leoisque( for an utter lack of descriptive word ) FK . And had Dembele scored that one on one after such a beautiful pass in dying min . The reverse was again a total domination by Liverpool and Leo surrounded by 4 -5 liver players in midfield ( unlike some one who taps in waiting in the penalty box for 90 min ) and the missies by Suarez , Alaba and Cutinho . Liverpool deservedly and dominantly won the game but Leo did not deserve that . Klopp , VVD , TAA , Robertson and Me ….. acknowledge that

If you are even remotely thinking Cr5 it’s because you are stupid as usual ( if not then you are confused ) it’s a simple 1st grade maths Cr5 has played at least 17 years of UCL . If he has 5 medals then he must be KO 13 times . Very Simple maths which is beyond your comprehension of course🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. 2. Every time Cr5 faced Leo in UCL he was KO 100% of the time . It’s not 50%, not 60% not 70 ….not most of the time . Is all the time . And 100% of the time .🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣 .
