Chelsea 0-2 Man Utd: Martial & Maguire give Utd first-ever PL double over Blues

Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire scored either side of half-time as Manchester United claimed a 2-0 triumph over Chelsea on Monday.

Martial continued his excellent form against Chelsea to get United off the mark, with the Blues denied an equaliser through Kurt Zouma by the video review system.

United made their luck count in the 66th minute with captain Maguire – who was perhaps fortunate to be on the pitch after an earlier clash with Michy Batshuayi – heading in Bruno Fernandes' corner and United held firm to secure valuable points after Olivier Giroud also saw a goal disallowed.

Mount escapes the attention of Wan-Bissaka down the left channel and latches onto a throughball. He pulls it back to Batshuayi by the penalty spot, but he scuffs a first-time effort wide to the left of goal.

Willian goes down in the area from the resulting corner, but is booked for diving. He went over an outstretched foot from Fernandes, but there didn't look to be much contact on first viewing.

Fred found Wan-Bissaka on the right, and he turned Willian inside out before firing in a superb right-footed cross. Martial then did brilliantly to get above Christensen and flick a header just inside the far post.

55' Foul! Zouma’s goal disallowed after VAR review

Chelsea think they're level through subsitute Zouma - Wan-Bissaka makes a brilliant block to deny Mount from close range, but the Frenchman turns in right-footed from the resulting corner. The celebrations are cut short, though, with VAR deciding Azpilicueta had pushed Williams as the cross came in.

James fed Mount down the right, and he whipped in a good low cross which Giroud turned home precisely at the near post. But, after a VAR check, he was deemed to have half a foot offside as the ball came in!
